About Me

Larger Than Life

The man behind Larger Than Life

My name is Terence Bromley, Tez to my friends. I am aged 55 years and have battled with illness and obesity for the majority of my life.

Aged 11 I was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia a rare but serious blood condition that occurs when your bone marrow cannot make enough new blood cells for your body to work normally. After a two year spell in hospital and various treatments, including Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy I was eventually given a Bone Marrow Transplant. This treatment did indeed save my life but it was also the beginning of my obesity problems.

Fast forward to 2019 I was 50 years old I was again diagnosed with a serious condition. This time is was Heart Failure (A Systolic Dysfunction of the Left Sided Ventricular) This condition leaves me very fatigued and at times unable to breathe specifically through exercise. My heart does not pump effectively leaving fluid in my lungs. Medication required for my condition has now resulted in me suffering Kidney Disease Stage 3. These condition alongside Sleep Apnea and Oedema leaves me labelled disabled.

This website was created to show people suffering from illness and obesity that we can still achieve, we can still get out and enjoy our lives. The name Larger Than Life was created and the website compiled. Since the website went live I have taken the decision to use medication to tackle my Obesity problem. I contacted The Family Chemist went through a thorough consultation and was prescribed Mounjaro. I now intend on documenting my journey through the Larger Than Life website to keep myself accountable and to hopefully inspire others in a similar situation as myself to do the same. Together we can fight obesity and we can live normal lives.
